SPANISH MISSION which I sourced privately at the end of last year  just destroyed the field in the Group 3 Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket July course.

Sent off as the 6/1 4th choice, Jamie Spencer bided his time, was relaxed and came through with a really strong run to collar runner up Nayef Road and go on to score by 4 lengths. The time was a new course record for the 1 mile 5 furlong trip.

It brought me great pleasure to see this horse win in such good style and I am delighted we managed to acquire him, and also that the owners have been patient with him. A step up in class is now on the agenda and it will be very interesting to see where the horse goes next.

Jamie Spencer gave him a peach of a ride and it was also a great training performance by David Simcock
