MADNESS IN THE MARKT
It is getting harder and harder to buy good horses for overseas clients. Laqrgely due to the influence of owners from the Middle East and Hong Kong's apparently insatiable appetite for horses, owners are pricing their horses in the stratosphere.
It is therefore very hard to find a horse which has the quality and scope to do well in the USA at a price which makes sense economically.
However, we will keep trying and most importantly we will continue to source horses in emerging markets and undervalued locations. We have had a lot of success doing this in Italy, where we have sourced numerous Stakes winners.
Italian form was boosted over the weekend when a previously Italian trained colt won the Arlington Million.
