BLACK ELEGANCE lived up to her name last Sunday in the Premio Mantovani a 7 1/2 furlong Listed race in Milan.
QUicklyh into her stride, the black filly was given a fantastic ride by Fabio Brance. Although shye was briefly challenged by two  other fillies coming around the bend, she pulled away and won under slight urging to win by 2 1/2 lengths.
The race had been delayed nearly half an hour by the most farcical loading process I have ever see, an d it was a great credit to our filly that she remained calm but focused even though she must have been in her gate for at least 15 minutes in all.
BLACK ELEGANCE is now off to the USA and will run in August or September. A racy rather unfurnished filly she looks ( on the evidence of her two wins so far- 2 from 2) as if she is a filly with a huge fuiture.
Congratulations to Team Valor who had the foresight to step up to the plate when I suggested her to them, and also to trainer Riccardo Guadani and also to Fabio Brance whose faith in the filly was wholly justified and who gave her a peach of a ride.
As a footnote it is worth mentioning that the time of the race was over 1.5 seconds faster than that achieved by the colts in their division of this Listed race.
