TUTTIPAESI BRAVE 2nd in GRADE 1

TUTTIPAESI ran a really solid race when fihnishing 2nd in the Grade 1 Ashland Stakes at Keenland last Saturday. Slowly away she had an awful lot of ground to make up and when she started to pick up she quickened really well to get 3rd coming around the last turn and then she was 2nd entering the straight., However her great effort in overcoming the slow start and making up all this ground had taken its toll and she had little left in the tank. Having said that, the winner Emollient looks like an exceptional filly and was given a peach of a front running ride by that great judge of pace Mike Smith

Still TUTTIPAESI is now Grade 1 placed, and earned $ 100,000 for her owners, so not a bad day at all.

It will be interesting to see where her new trainer Rick Mettee and her owners Valor Ladies decide to run her next. I believe that the KY Oaks is not being considered as the feeling is she will be best served by returning to run on turf.

She remains a filly who I am convinced will win none or more Graded Stakes by the end of the year
