A BUMPER HARVEST?

CROP REPORT overcame a bump and a slow start yesterday to win the Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park in pleasing fashion

Once again, as in his first US start) the son of Medaglia D'Oro was slow out of the gate, got bumped. Going down the back stretch he was detached from the rest of the field and most people watching would have given him no chance of hitting the board, let alone winning. However, going into the far turn Crop Report found his stride, lengthened and started to eat up the ground. Despite running green and failing to change leads, he passed all his rivals and won , going away by nearly two lengths.

Bought privately for Team Valor in the fall it looks like this colt can make the grade in Group- races during 2013 and I am very excited about his chances of Group 1 success at some point. He excudes class and covers the ground in effortless fashion.

I believe the Blue Grass Stakes at Keenland might be next on the agenda, and were he to win that I would have thought the KY Derby would be the next logical step even though the colt lacks experience.

Whichever route the owners and trainer decide to take, Crop Report remains a very exciting prospect.
