CERRO JOINS POSSIBLE KY DERBY CANDIDATES

CERRO caught my eye when he won his maiden in Rome, Italy in impressive style and I proposed him to Barry Irwin who immediately snapped up the son of Mr Greeley. After an eventful transatlantic trip and a snafu in quarantine, which made him miss some training he took a while to 'find his stride' in the USA. However a couple of weeks ago, CERRO fulfilled the promise which he had shown when he won a deep allowance race at Gulfstream Park in very decent fashion, going wire to wire and pulling away from the field in the stretch.
After this win, pundits, the press and the colt's connections started to think that they might have a Derby candidate on their hands, and as such, CERRO will now be po9inted towards a Graded Stakes race at Gulfstream on March 4th and possibly the Spiral Stakes on March 24th. A win in these races would open up a spot for this good looking colt to start in the Run for the Roses on the first Saturday in May.
Interestingly, CERRO is part owned by record breaking olympic swimmer Michael Phelps and his old coach Bob Bowman

I will foolow this talented colt's progress with interest and who knows he might make me hop on a plane come May to cheer him on at Churchill Downs.  Here's hoiping !!!!!!
