A GREAT SALE
It was a pleasure to welcome Deron PEarson and Jim Cassidy back to the October Horses in Training sale at Tattersalls in late October
Although the cataloguie was lacking in 'star lots' ( particularly amongst the two year olds) there were still some nice horses there and we ended up buying seven horses for Deron including three fillies who had recent black type form , one of which was a supplementary entry to the catalogue)
In all we bought six fillies and one colt for them amongst which were
- SEOLAN a Listed winner in Ireland who had been supplemented to the sale. She cost 320,000 guineas
- DISCO DASKO who we picked up for 75,000. She had won a Listed race in France a day before the sale and had onloy just got back from her travels
- LILBOURNE ELIZA who colst us 100,000. She had been Listed placed on her last start, and had a similar form profile to Ticker Tape whom we bought for Deron back in 2003.
I also bolught a nice colt from Ballydoyle for a client in Macau.
Overall it was an excellent sale and I thought the market was pretty strong as quite a few horses made a lot moire than I thought they would.
We ended up 3rd in the Top Ten list of Purchasers with a tot5al spend of 675,000 guineas.
I will follow the horses which have gone to the USA with great interest and I hope that I will be able to report on multiple successes for the graduiates of this sale.
