MAJOR ART took a decisive step to justifying his  reputation by winning the feature race at Santa Anita on Friday afternoon.

Although he only won by two heads, he was by far the best horse in the race and his run was mor impressive than it looked as he was not helped by the slow pace of the race and also met some trouble in the stretch.

 

Bought by GT for Class Racing in  the fall last year in a private deal, Major Art has progressed well . It will be interesting to see where he turns up next as the powers that be in California have effectively eliminated all the Turf graded races in the spring ( The Will Rogers and the Cinema), and I doubt whether the connections will want to wait till the start of the Del Mar meet.

 

Still, I am excited about this colt and look forward to seeing him progress again
