After six months on the sidelines with a few niggling problems, GITANO HERNANDO showed he is stil at the top of his game with a cheeky win in the GR 3 Diamond Stakes at Dundalk this evening.
Kieren Fallon had made the journey from Newmarket by private plane to partner the son of Hernando in his first race since his Dubai adventure, and all the way through the race he was boxed in and denied a clear run. Finally though Fallon managed to pull Gitano Hernando wide and came with a strong turn of foot to win by a cosy 1/2 length. There are a variety of options for this talented colt and it would be presumptious of me to say which route I would take.
Congratulations to all involved and may the Gitano story continue to excite and enthrall.
