MISS SINGHSIX GALLANT 2ND IN DELWARE HCAP

It was always going to be a tough task , but Miss Singhsix proved once and for all she is a mare that can hold her own in the big time, as she sparkled to finish second to favourite Life at Ten in the $750,000 Delaware Handicap last Saturday. She earned $ 150,000 for her owners Team Valor.

The race on Saturday was run in strange manner. Life at Ten set the pace easy, but it was a slow but steady pace with nearly all the quarters being run in 24 seconds. The lack of real speedand the fact that the jockey elected to make his move on the turn meant that Miss Singhsix could not use her finishing kick to best effect

The Grade 1 Personal Ensign Stakes at Saratoga will be next on the agenda for the talented daughter of the late Singspiel. She will be meeting the likes of Rachel Alexandra, maybe Zenyatta and Life at Ten once again. That should be a race to savour.

Miss Singhsix has now won over $ 300,000, is a Graded Stakes winner and there is still more to come . Not bad for a filly who I bought after she had won a maiden a Dundalk
