A GREAT RESULT
It's a really good feeling when a plan works out. WE sent MIA TESORO to Dubai in the hope that she would get a Group 2 placing before being retired to the breeding shed. SO we aimed at two races, the Cape Verdi last month and the Balanchine today.
The first race was a bit of a disaster, ground issues and a wide draw. She also just did not seem like herself.
Today was a different story though. The ground seemed to ride a bit faster > She broke a tad slow, was last with two furlongs to go and then had to come 4 or 5 wide in the straight. But she then put her best foot forward and achieved a great 2nd place. Another big bit of Black Type to help her along the road. In a way it's a shame that she will not race on, but she has now won a Listed and placed in a GR 2 so mission accomplished.
Have to give credit to the jockey today Chris Hayes who gave her a brilliant ride. Also hats off to Charlie Fellowes and his staff.
