BELVOIR BAY DOES IT AGAIN

BELVOIR BAY, the poocket sized filly, whom I bought privately for Team Valor a couple of years ago showed her tenacity, class and talent again yesterday when she easily won the GR 2 Monrovia Stakes at Santa Anita.
SHe was close up throughout, had to squeeze through the narrowest of gaps coming into the straight and then powered away. The winning distance was 1 1/2 lengths, but she was not given a hard ride and could have won by more.
This is an extraordinary filly. She was involved in the tragic fire at San Luis Rey last year and sustained injuries in that event, but has come back stronger than ever. SHe has now won three straight stakes races, starting off with the Mizdirection Stakes ( Listed) follwed up in the GR 3 San Simeon STakes and now the GR 2 Monrovia. She loves it down the hill at Santa Anita, but I am hopeful that the connections will be able to find a Grade 1 for her to win during the course of this year.
I was reminded today that Prize Exhibit won the Monrovia Stakes two years ago., Seems to be a lucky race for horses I have purchased.
Congratulations to Owners Team Valor and Gary Barber and trainer Peter Miller. She also got a great ride from Victor Espinoza.
