CAPLA TEMPTRESS , who won the GR 1 NAtalma STakes last year and then ran flat in the Breeders Cup , came back for her 2018 introduction with a huge effort in the Prix D'Essai des Pouliches ( the French 1000 Guineas). This Group 1 classic race, was delayed for over 1/2 hour as some of the jockeys thought the middle track was unsafe. After consultation, the Longchamp authorities moved the race to the 'big track' ,
Settled in behind the leaders, CAPLA TEMPTRESS had a huge amount of ground to make up turning into the straight and looked to be stuck behind a wall of horses. Finally a break did appear and after just a monet's hesitation, she put on the afterburners and closed really well. She was only beaten a head for 3rd and less than 1/2 length foe the win. She is so game and genuine. It was a fantastic effort and she is proving to be a really good find and purchase . I am looking for another like her, but they are few and far between,.
