CAPLA TEMPTRESS who I suggested to Barry Irwin of Team Valor and who I acquired on his behalf in a private sale, tonight won the 'Win and You're In' Natalma Stakes at Woodbine. She did it in very good style, coming with a late run and winning with something in hand.,
She is not very big, but she is all heart.
I first noticed this filly when she came from way off the pace to win by a nose in a low level maiden at Chelmsford on the polytrack. AT the time I thought she was very interesting , but the form was slightly questionable. On her next start however, she confirmed the promise of the first run with an emphatic victory in a Novice event at Newmarket.
This is when I suggested her to Barry and she passed the vet exam .
She next ran in the Sweet Solera Stakes back at Newmarket where she finished a decent 3rd.
Tonight under a masterful ride by Joel Rosario, she broke fairly well,. He then settled her at the back of the field. Turning into the straight he had not moved on her and when he asked her to quicken she did it immediately and just outclassed and out-finished the opposition. She beat two highly thought of fillies of M Casse and Todd Pletcher, both of whom were said to be extremely talented.
A great night and a huge congratulation to all concerned especially Barry Irwin and Marco Botti , who once again has done a fantastic training job.
Next stop Breeders Cup, for which she now gets an all expenses paid automatic entry
