Have had quite a busy few weeks, but unfortunately not a lot to show for all the efforts. I have clients desperately looking for horses, but the prices which people are asking are verging on the ludicrous. I am not at all sure that they are getting the prices they are quoting, but it has become really insane. There must surely at some stage be a rationalization and a downward adjustment. Otherwise all except the super rich will be driven out of the game completely. I found it telling that quite a few of the horses I had been offered at stupid prices ( or which had been sold to others at those prices) finished way down the field in a few of the Listed and Group races at Royal Ascot. although I need to sell horses to make a living I , for one, am trying to make a stand and am mostly refusing to play ball in what has become an over inflated ball game.

Tonight BELVOIR BAY makes her seasonal comeback in a hot allowance race at Santa Anita. She might need the race after her long break, but it's nice to see her back in action.  I am really looking forward to Del Mar which starts in just over three week's time. I expect big runs from quite a few of the relatively recent purchases, including RESPONSIBLEFORLOVE: SPY RING: PRIZE EXHIBIT etc....

Together with an Italian agent, I made a very shrewd purchase a few months ago buying a horse very cheaply who went on to win two conditions races in Italy, paying for himself with just the prize money and there is hopefully more to come from this gelding.

I will try to update this news section a little more frequently ( I keep promising to do this) but unless there is some real news or some dramatic event, I do not see the point in boring whoever reads this with more existential meanderings.
